Iniobong Usoro Nigerian, b. 1994

Iniobong Usoro (born 1994) is a self-taught artist from Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers State. He attended the University of Uyo, Nigeria and graduated with a bachelors in Architecture. After his education, he moved to Lagos where he worked as an architect with an interior design firm for a year before becoming a full-time studio artist. Usoro expresses his artistic ideas through the use of acrylic, oil, pens and pencils. He tries to infuse elements of architecture into his creative practice.

His artistic journey started with him creating digital portraits, before transitioning to acrylic on paper and then canvas. The artist’s practice has since evolved from portraits, landscapes, and conceptual art to his current focus on geometric figurative art. This avenue allows him to explore various themes, such as the complexities of human existence, which naturally resonate with his artistic practice.
